Woodland jewelry natural wooden pin with hand painted whimsical dragonfly and on the side the letters FLY. Just a reminder of what you need to do in life. Fly to higher heights and dreams, just believe. Made and crafted from natural wooden beechwood.

I cut a 1/4 in slice from a Beechwood Branch and backed it with a pin mounted with epoxy glue. Several coats of varnish and wax finish it off.

I think they are wonderful.

Size about 2 1/2 x 1 1/4in. and are about 1/4 to 1/3 in. thick.

I have been cutting up bits and pieces of branches from limbs that recently fell during a wind storm. I believe creativity comes to us when we are never looking for it. The branches were a gift from nature and I had to think of a way to give back. I took a short break from my clean up and headed into the studio for a nice cup of coffee. A small container caught my eye and inside were pin backings from a long time ago. I fiddled around with them while I drank my coffee, finished up and headed for the outdoors and branches. As I sawed the branches I remembered the pin backings. I knew why this branch was here. It wanted to be a painted pin.
