What's new.
I am working on a collection of small oil paintings featuring nature, flowers, and landscapes. This new collection is of Vermont landscapes and wildflowers in a variety of boards sizes.
I began my career working in watercolors and still do.
I love working with watercolors. The way watercolors can be fluid and alive yet you can layer the paint to create wonderful depth is so much fun. Andrew Wyeth’s egg tempera watercolors and Redoute’s intricate floral illustrations inspired my work. An expansion of painting watercolors to a new surface especially designed for water medium is new. This allows artwork to be framed with no glass or matting. Living in Vermont has brought me a new insight and inspired my creative juices to add oil landscapes of Vermont countryside and towns.
Working on New Art and New Painted Furnishings.
My studio creates wonderful hand painted farmhouse cottage style furniture and functional art. I paint my own handmade wood pieces or will refurbish found furniture and save it from the dump. I love to save furniture and give it a second chance.
Mainly the furniture designs are created with watercolor hand painted on primed, painted pieces. I give them a bit of a sanding to give them a worn look and finish with lacquer or varnishes. Once dried I apply a coat of wax.

I am still working on my peonies and garden flower botanical watercolors, and below is one of my favorite paintings, a pink peony on panel.
